UMBROSA INGENUA SHADE SAILS
A fully adjustable, flexible shade sail system with high grade fabrics and a multitude of options to enable installation almost anywhere.
These innovative, stylish shade sails are perfect for residential gardens, hotel terraces and school playgrounds.
The flexibility and the ability to easily adjust the angle of the sail is unique whilst the modern design provides effective shade for both domestic and commercial situations.
Ingenua sail systems are available in a number of different shapes and sizes – square, triangle, rectangle, pentagon or combinations. They can be used individually or used in combination with each other to create large areas of contemporary looking shade.
Consider different options to create interesting shapes. The flexibility of the Ingenua system allows you to easily change the angle of the sail, moving the shade as the sun crosses the sky.
Please note: that for all shade sail variations you need to allow additional space for the connecting ropes. You normally need to add at least 113cm to the size of the sail to indicate how much space is required to install the sail. For example a 4.0m square sail requires a space of 5.13m.
There are a number of different ways to fit Ingenua shade sails. Careful planning is required to ensure correct installation, but once the planning is done all the work is simple enough to be carried out by a DIY enthusiast or a local builder. Each corner of the sail can either be fixed via a wall kit or post system.
The shade sails can be fixed directly to a wall or via a post system. The Ingenua posts system provides excellent flexibility and enables the shade sails to be installed almost anywhere. The posts provide support for the sails where there is no existing wall or structure to support the corner of the sail. The posts also enable easy height adjustment of the sail to give users flexible shade.
- Fixed wall mount – Fixes the sail on the wall at a specific height, but enables easy set-up and take down with a pulley system.
- Adjustable wall mount kit – 1.65m long slider unit is fixed directly to a wall or existing vertical surface. This enables the sail to be angled and height adjusted, even when fixed to a wall.
- Fix directly to wall with bolts – This can only be done on one corner of each sail. It can make taking the sails down difficult as they would probably need to be mounted at a point high up on a wall. Bolts would need to be purchased from a local hardware store, as the construction of the wall will dictate the choice of bolt.
- Posts – Can be installed either vertically or at a 75 degree angle, leaning away from the sail. The angled posts create a more contemporary looking structure.
- Slider Unit – Posts are supplied with a slider unit to adjust the height of the sail, so they can be easily angled.
- Easy Step – Easy Step is an optional extra. It provides a small platform to stand on, to make it easier to reach higher up the pole.
- Sail tensioner – is included on each corner of every sail. It is used to tension the sail by sliding the metal part towards the pole.
Ingenua shade sails are available in two different fabric ranges, each with various colour options.
The decision on how to install the post would normally be made based upon the existing surface that the post is to be mounted onto and how permanent a base is required.
Ingenua shade sails can be easily fitted into many different size areas. The tension adjuster allows a great deal of flexibility when positioning the poles or the wall brackets.
- Deck base 90 degrees – Deck base 90 degrees, can be bolted down to an existing hard surface. Vertical version. Permanent solution.
Surface: decking, concrete - Deck base 75/105 degrees – Can be bolted down to an existing hard surface. Used when the mast is required to be at an angle of either 75 degrees or 105 degrees. Surface: For timber decking or existing concrete surface.
- Cover Plate – Installing this between the deck base and the ground enables the deck base to be removed easily, when the shade sails are not in use for extended periods. Surface: for deck bases
- Vertical in-ground base 90 degrees – The lower section of the ground base should be set into concrete to provide a stable support.
Surface: paving, tarmac, grass. - Angled in-ground base – Angles the mast at a fixed 75 degree angle. The lower section of the ground base should be set into concrete to provide a stable support. Surface: paving, tarmac, grass
- Ground screw – For screwing into soil. Install either vertically or at a 75 degree angle. This is suitable as a temporary base but is not suitable for stony soil. Surface: grass.
- Tile base & tile base cover – For freestanding installation. Slabs need to be added to provide the stability. One of the two deck plates should be bolted to the top, once the tiles are added. Use only where fixing to the ground is impossible. Surface: any flat surface, indoor. A tile base cover is available for the tile base.
- Base system – Freestanding base with steel plates. Creates a lower profile option to the tile base. Surface: any flat surface, indoor.
