ultra strong parasols at a coastal bar

The specification:

The family of this privately owned business based at the Yacht Haven Marina decided to completely refurbish the outside balcony area of the upstairs bar. Part of this revamp required all year round shelter with heat and light and a base that did not require concreting into the ground.

The solution:

Due to the very windy location and balcony positioning, we decided that the Vortex with a white canopy would not only look superb in a marine setting but would be the strongest structure to stay up and open all year round (only to be closed in extreme weather conditions). To accommodate the seating area we supplied three of the Vortex 2.8m square parasols with heat and light. The Vortex free standing base was used as the anchor, each base consisting of 28 concrete slabs and a total weight of 957Kg. A wooden box was built around the base to conceal the slabs and compliment the accompanying furniture.

The result:

A truly impressive sight. The contemporary sail design of the Vortex and choice of white canopy blends beautifully with the yachts in the marina. Along with the bar’s superb renovation and stunning sea views the restaurant can now boast of its own powerful sails!
