Model availabity
Integrated heating and lighting is available on all models of the Royal Eagle parasols and also on the XXL parasols
Lights and heaters
Lights are centrally mounted to the pole, just below the lower hub and the heters are mounted to the struts of the parasol, plugged into special plugs inside the top of the parasol.
Lights are 4 x Osram low wattage 9W output (40W equivalent) lights.
manufacturers details available here
As standard we offer Solamagic 1.4kW heaters, fitted with plugs to connect into the parasol and with brackets to mount onto the parasol struts.
These heaters are far more effiecint than traditional gas heaters and have low running costs.

Running costs
To accurately calculate the running costs of the heaters you will need to know the price you pay per kW hour for your electricity. The calculation is then as follows:
number of heaters x unit cost in pence (kW/h) x 1.4 (heater power rating)
This gives the cost per hour in pence of each parasol. Note the lights are almost irrelevant.
for example if you pay 7.5 pence per kW/h and you want to run 2 heaters in a parasol
the calculation is a follows :
2 x 7.5 x 1.4 = 21 pence per hour for the two heaters.
The 4 lights at the same electricity cost are 4 x 7.5 x 0.009 = 0.27 pence per hour
Cabling
Parasols are fitted with a special multi core cable that ensures that the whole unit complies with UK best practice wiring regulations.
The cabling is fully integrated within the pole.
Each heater is supplied with its own three core power supply, enabling very flexible switching of the units. The lights are also supplied seperately and there are no shared earth or neutral cables between the components.
Switches and sensors
NEW FOR 2008
We are now able to offer wireless remote switches for our Royal Eagle and XXL parasols, fitted with integrated electrics.
Using new "energy harvesting" technology from Enocean we have a range of switches that can operate the heaters and lights within the parasols, without the need for wires or batteries.
The potential for cost savings are immense. Ask any of our competitors to put control stitches for your heaters and lights behind your bar (exactly where most users want to have them) and see what thay want to charge you for doing so! With this new technology we can put your switches anywhere you like (even in your pocket!) for very little additional cost.
Installation
We would always recommend that parasols with electrics are fitted to ground bases and that the electrical cable is run through the ground to the main board.
This ensures that there is minimum possibility of interferrence from customers!
We do not install your parasols ourselves, but will work with your chosen, local contractors to ensure that the job is done correctly.
Development
We have a constant development program in place for electrical parasols and lead the market as far as delivering electrically compliant parasols is concerned.
We have unique relationships with all of our suppliers, putting as much development effort into the product as our manufacturers do, to ensure that we consistantly source and supply world leading products to the markets we serve.
